We Are Now Composting!

Starting October 6th, composting will be mandatory in the Bronx. The Board has ordered free composting bins from the Department of Sanitation. We will provide more information about the location of these clearly labeled compost disposal bins. Additional signs and decals have been ordered for those interested in getting composting bins for their own units.

Learn both the locations and the procedures. We want to be responsible, law-abiding citizens. We do not want extra work for our staff and extra food for vermin or extra expenses for our co-op. Those that do not comply and cause issues will be fined. If we cannot identify the individual unit, we will have no choice but to fine the entire floor. Compost will be collected every Monday on our recycling day

Please note: Any violations, such as improper setout times, incorrect or overfilled bins, or incorrect separation, will result in fines. To avoid unnecessary costs to the co-op, please immediately report any concerns or issues to the building staff and management instead of going directly to the city.

● $100 for the first offense

● $200 for the second offense

● $300 for the third and subsequent offenses
